British Values
At Hallwood Park, we are committed to fostering a values-based curriculum that empowers our pupils to become conscientious and responsible citizens of the future. We believe that values serve as guiding principles for our thinking and behaviour, shaping the individuals our students will become.
To ensure that these vital principles resonate throughout our school community, we focus on a different value each month. These values are introduced during our assemblies, where pupils are encouraged to reflect on their significance. Lessons in the classroom and interactions around the school further reinforce these values, creating a holistic learning environment. At the conclusion of each month, we celebrate those pupils who have exemplified our ‘Value of the Month’ by presenting them with certificates during our Celebration Assembly.
We explicitly promote the fundamental British Values, which play an integral role in our educational ethos. These include:
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual Respect
- Tolerance
Our monthly values for the academic year are as follows:
- September – Resilience
- October – Co-operation
- November – Respect
- December – Communication
- January – Enquiry
- February – Love and Honesty
- March – Tolerance
- April – Thoughtfulness
- May – Responsibility
- June – Achievement
- July – Adaptability
By embedding these values into our curriculum, we aim to nurture well-rounded individuals capable of making positive contributions to society. At Hallwood Park, we strive to create an environment where each pupil feels valued, respected, and inspired to grow.
